Follow A Wandering Soul on Substack

Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time helping agencies tell their stories. Lately, I’ve been learning how to tell my own.

Demar Anderson

I’m a CMO-level marketing and communications executive with 15+ years of experience building brands, growing agencies, and making culture move. I’ve led enterprise marketing for global networks and built thought leadership platforms that generated billions of earned impressions. I know how to position extraordinary things so the right people can’t look away.

Now I’m bringing that expertise into the art world.

I’m completing my Master’s in Art Business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, deepening my knowledge of art market dynamics, collection strategy, art finance and valuation, and cultural institution management. I serve on the board of Craft in America, a national nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and celebration of American craft as fine art and produces the PBS documentary series. I’m building toward becoming an international art dealer, someone fluent in both the language of commerce and the weight of a great work.

What I solve: the gap between remarkable creative work and the audiences, collectors, and partners who need to find it. Brand positioning. Market storytelling. Audience building. Cultural relevance. Those aren’t soft skills in the art world — they’re the ones most organizations are missing.

I’m based in Chicago. I think and travel globally. I bring a cross-cultural perspective — as a bi-racial Black and Korean woman — that expands what’s possible in spaces still learning to widen.

If you’re building at the intersection of art, culture, and commerce, I’d love to connect.
